Philosophy of Education
Teaching is a very unique and challenging profession, but one that offers rewards that cannot be measured. I have always felt that to be an effective teacher it is necessary to provide students with very clear expectations and to always be consistent. To maximize student learning there must be classroom management in place with regards to discipline and classroom expectations in order to accomplish daily tasks and goals. The ability to communicate with students as well as parents is a must in order to understand the best ways to meet student needs. Regardless of grade or subject being taught, I feel structure and a learning environment that is student centered is a must. When teaching, it should be evident that a teacher has a sound understanding of the content being delivered, so it is vital that you learn and teach your standards! Instructional planning should include a plethora of resources and researched based strategies in order to effectively meet the needs of all students in your classroom. As a teacher, it is important to always make sure students are engaged, challenged, and learning. Teaching requires effort, the ability to adapt, and enthusiasm for learning. I consider myself very blessed to have the opportunity to teach and help shape the young minds of America's future.
