I have one resource classes at Eastside this year. I have one kindergartner, three second graders, a fourth grader, and two first graders. Students use the program Fast Forward to improve their literacy. Fast forward is divided into reading assist and reading readiness. The youngest students use reading readiness which works on letters and sounds. The older students work on their reading by completing reading fluencies with reading comprehension questions. The program provides daily usage reports on student progress. I also use Nearpod literacy lessons using iPads targeting skills English Language learners need to become more English proficient.
I enjoy teaching ESOL. It is fun to watch students progress as they become more proficient in English.
