Representing District 3
James (J.P.) Foster has served on the Board of Education since January 2017. Born and raised in Cedartown, he is a proud graduate of Cedartown High School, Class of ’74 (Go Dawgs!). He attended and graduated from both Floyd Junior College (A.A., Law Enforcement, 1977) and Jacksonville State University (B.S., Criminal Justice, 1979). Mr. Foster served with distinction for 28 years with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (G.B.I.), retiring in 2008. He has been employed periodically as an investigator and consultant, conducting contract work along with his wife, Sherri; together, the Fosters own and operate F2 Consulting Group. They also have 3 sons: Matt, Zach and Gabe.
Mr. Foster strives to serve with honesty, integrity, transparency, and he takes pride in assisting to provide all of Polk County’s students with a quality education.
