Hello and Welcome to my Music Page!
My name is Sante Alana Duncan and I joined the Cherokee Elementary family in 2018. I graduated from Reinhardt University Summa Cum Laude with top honors. I left Reinhardt after being drum major of the Screamin' Eagle Band and graduating with a music education degree specializing in the bassoon. I have taught since 2016 and started my career in McDonough, Georgia in the Henry County School district. I learned so incredibly much there, met some incredible colleagues who have become lifelong friends and took all of my experiences with me to Polk. I was married to my best friend in 2016 and we both teach music. He teaches middle school band and works in the fall with a marching band like myself. I currently teach general music at CES and I also teach drum majors at North Paulding High School. In my personal opinion I have the best students in all my grades. I have only just begun my teaching career, but I feel very lucky to be at CES and in everything I do, and continue to do. Outside of teaching in a school, I teach start up lessons on various instruments, and play baritone saxophone in the Georgia Wind Symphony. I am by nature a bassoon and flute player, but learn more and more everyday on all the instruments I can. Currently, I have the BEST teammates ever and we all work together to bring the best activity time to our students. CES has a chorus, honor chorus, and a bucket drum line that meets outside of regular class. We are always busy at CES and hope that you come to one of our fantastic productions in the fall or the spring!
